The Florida Panthers will host the New York Rangers in the 2026 Winter Classic at loanDepot Park in Miami on January 2nd, 2026. The Tampa Bay Lightning will host the Boston Bruins in a Stadium Series Game at Raymond James Stadium on February 1st, 2026.

Harris Blitzer Sports & Entertainment (who owns the Philadelphia 76ers and New Jersey Devils) and Comcast (who owns the Philadelphia Flyers) announced today that they have agreed to form a 50-50 joint venture to build a world-class, state-of-the-art arena in the South Philadelphia Sports Complex that will be the new home of the Philadelphia 76ers and Philadelphia Flyers. The arena is slated to open in 2031, with the potential to accelerate to an earlier date. This announcement comes just a year after Comcast completed a $400 million renovation project on the Wells Fargo Center, the current home arena of the Flyers and 76ers.

Per Elliotte Friedman on Saturday night headlines, teams have been calling the Nashville Predators inquiring about the availability of veteran forward Ryan O’Reilly on the trade market. O’Reilly is signed to a multi year deal and the Predators are telling teams despite not having a “no move/trade clause” included in his contract he is being treated as if he does. The Predators will only move O’Reilly if he requests it, or is okay with the location when a trade offer is presented to him.

Thomas Galvin, the newly elected chairman of Arizona's Maricopa County Board of Supervisors, held his first meeting of 2025 Tuesday where he laid out his strategy to bring NHL hockey back to the city of Phoenix with Gary Bettmen in attendance.
